Simple, safe, useful. Here is exactly what we do and don't collect.

The short version: Everything you type into a tool stays on your device, your inputs and files are never uploaded. toolcan itself sets no tracking cookies and keeps nothing that identifies you. To keep the site free, we show ads from Google, which may use cookies. You decide: accept or reject non-essential cookies in the consent banner, and change your mind anytime via “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer.
Your calculations stay on your device
Every toolcan tool runs entirely in your browser. The numbers, text, and files you put into a calculator, converter, or generator are processed right there on your device. Your inputs are never sent to us or uploaded anywhere.
What we count
To learn which tools people find useful, we keep a simple, anonymous tally of how many times each tool page is opened. That is a single number per tool, for example, “mortgage calculator: 4,210 opens.” We do not store your IP address, we do not use cookies or other trackers for this, and we have no way to tell who you are or to connect one visit to another. We can see how many times a page was used, never by whom.
We use this count for one thing only: choosing which tools to feature on the homepage.
Cookies & your choices
toolcan itself uses no tracking cookies. The only cookies on the site come from our advertising partner (see below). Where your region requires it, a consent banner asks your permission before any non-essential (advertising) cookies are set:
- EU, UK, and Switzerland, ad cookies stay off until you opt in.
- United States, you can opt out of personalized ads and the “sale” or “sharing” of data for targeted advertising at any time.
You can change your decision whenever you like through the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer. We also honor your browser’s Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal automatically.
Standard server logs
Like nearly every website, our web host and content-delivery network automatically keep basic access logs (such as the page requested and a timestamp) for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify or build a profile of you.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
To keep toolcan free, we show ads served by Google AdSense. Google is a third party with its own policies, and (subject to your consent) it may use cookies and similar technologies to serve, personalize, measure, and protect ads from fraud. We never upload your tool inputs to Google or anyone else; what Google processes is limited to standard ad-serving data (such as your IP address, device and browser information, and interactions with ads), governed by Google’s own terms. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data:
- EU/UK/EEA/Switzerland (GDPR): consent is required before ad cookies are set, and you can withdraw it anytime via “Your Privacy Choices.”
- California (CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), and other US states: you can opt out of personalized advertising and the “sale” or “sharing” of personal data, use “Your Privacy Choices,” or browse with GPC enabled and we’ll honor it.
Because we keep nothing that identifies you, there is no account or profile for us to look up, export, or delete. Requests about ad data handled by Google can also be made directly to Google.
Children’s privacy
toolcan is a general-audience site, is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes & questions
