Show the math

Cost per thousand impressions, cost per click and click-through rate:

CPM = spend ÷ impressions × 1000

CPC = spend ÷ clicks · CTR = clicks ÷ impressions × 100

Platforms may bill on either CPM or CPC, converting between them lets you compare campaigns fairly. All math runs in your browser.

What this does

A CPM & CPC calculator converts ad spend, impressions, and clicks into cost per thousand impressions, cost per click, and click-through rate.

How to use it

  1. Enter the ad spend.
  2. Enter the impressions.
  3. Enter the clicks.
  4. Read CPM, CPC, and CTR.

How it works

CTR is clicks ÷ impressions × 100. CPM measures the cost of reach; CPC measures the cost of each visit.

CPM = spend ÷ impressions × 1000; CPC = spend ÷ clicks

Understanding your result

CPM measures the cost of reach and CPC the cost of each visit, linked by the click-through rate. A low CPM with a poor CTR can still produce an expensive CPC, so read all three together and compare them against your own past campaigns rather than generic industry averages.

Example

$500 over 100,000 impressions is a $5 CPM.
