About frequency conversions

Enter a value and choose the units to convert between. Each frequency unit is defined against a single base unit, so any pair lines up consistently, the table shows your value in every frequency unit at once.

What this does

A frequency converter changes a rate of repetition between hertz, kilohertz, megahertz, gigahertz, and revolutions per minute.

How to use it

  1. Enter a value and pick its unit.
  2. Choose the unit to convert to.
  3. Read the converted result instantly.
  4. Swap the units to reverse the conversion.

How it works

Each value is converted to hertz first and then to the target unit. One hertz is one cycle per second; RPM counts cycles per minute, so 60 RPM equals 1 Hz. Each metric step up is a factor of 1,000.

Hz = RPM ÷ 60

Example

One megahertz is 1,000,000 hertz, and 3,000 RPM is 50 Hz.

One hertz is one cycle per second, and RPM is cycles per minute, so 60 RPM equals 1 Hz.

How many hertz are in a megahertz?

One megahertz is 1,000,000 hertz, and one gigahertz is 1,000 megahertz.
