How it works
Each value is converted to watts first and then to the target unit. There are two horsepower definitions: mechanical (imperial) hp ≈ 745.7 W and metric horsepower (PS) ≈ 735.5 W.
kW = mechanical hp × 0.7457
Example
100 mechanical horsepower is about 74.57 kW. A 1,500-watt heater is 1.5 kW, or about 5,118 BTU per hour.
