How it works
Dice notation is written NdS: roll N dice with S sides each, plus optional modifiers. A missing count means one die, so d20 equals 1d20.
Advantage and disadvantage roll the whole expression twice and keep the higher or lower total, the classic d20-system mechanic.

Understanding your result
Every die is drawn independently from a cryptographically secure source, so each roll is genuinely fair and the previous result has no bearing on the next, there is no streak that is due to break. Read the individual dice as well as the total, since many systems care about each die (advantage, exploding dice, matched pairs) rather than just the sum.

2d6+3 rolls two six-sided dice and adds 3, for a result of 5 to 15.
