Show the math

Each level needs a fixed cumulative XP total. Your level is the highest threshold you've passed; the gap to the next threshold is what's left to climb.

XP to next = next-level total − current XP

All math runs locally in your browser.

What this does

An XP to next level calculator finds your current d20-system level from total experience, how much XP remains to the next level, and your progress through the current one.

How to use it

  1. Enter your total XP.
  2. Read your current level.
  3. See the XP to the next level.
  4. Check your progress percentage.

How it works

It uses the standard d20-system cumulative XP table for levels 1 through 20. Level 20 is the cap, so no further requirement is shown.

Understanding your result

The remaining XP and progress bar show how close the next level is, useful for pacing when to end a session on a high note. It follows the standard cumulative table to the level-20 cap, so once you reach 20 no further requirement is shown; if you use milestone levelling instead, treat these numbers as flavour rather than the rule.

Example

300 XP places a character at level 4.
